Eurasian Jay (Garrulus glandarius) filmed in Slovakia.
Footage description
A wild Eurasian jay (Garrulus glandarius) scavenging from the remains of a roe deer completely concealed beneath deep snow in a winter woodland in Slovakia. The jay repeatedly extracts and consumes small pieces of exposed tissue while heavy snow falls around the bird. The sequence documents natural carrion feeding and opportunistic winter foraging behaviour under harsh snowy conditions.
