Footage description
Two wild Eurasian Jays (Garrulus glandarius) interacting at a snow-covered old tree stump in Slovakia. One jay is perched on the stump when a second bird approaches from below and displaces it, taking over the perch. After remaining briefly on the snowy stump, the second jay also flies out of the frame. The sequence documents natural social and competitive behaviour between Eurasian Jays in a winter setting.
