Close view of a young red deer stag (Cervus elaphus) with its developing antlers still covered in velvet, filmed in warm golden evening light in Slovakia. The young stag initially stands in profile with a mouthful of grass, listening to its surroundings and occasionally flicking its ears. It then turns its head toward the camera and scents the air with visible movement of its moist nostrils before gradually returning to a side profile. Filmed around sunset during the autumn rutting season, the solitary stag was observed behaving naturally and was unaware of the observer's presence.
