Young Red Deer Stag Looking Around Before Resuming Grazing
Red Deer (Cervus elaphus) filmed in Slovakia.
Footage description
Close view of a young red deer stag (Cervus elaphus) with developing antlers still covered in velvet, filmed in warm golden evening light in Slovakia. The stag initially looks toward the camera with a strand of grass held in its mouth, then turns its head to look behind before facing forward again. Subtle movement of its nostrils is visible as it scents the air. The young stag finally lowers its head to resume grazing. Filmed around sunset during the autumn rutting season, the solitary animal was behaving naturally and was unaware of the observer's presence.
