Footage description
A young red deer stag (Cervus elaphus) with developing antlers still covered in velvet quietly forages on the ground in open oak woodland in Slovakia. The solitary stag moves its muzzle through the vegetation and leaf litter while feeding naturally among mature trees. Filmed during the autumn rutting season, the young stag was unaware of the observer's presence and continued feeding undisturbed.
