Young red fox cubs (Vulpes vulpes) engage in energetic social play among rocks and fallen branches near their woodland den in Slovakia. The cubs scramble around the uneven terrain, paw at one another and tumble during their playful interaction. At one point, one cub rolls down among the rocks while another stands over it and the pair continue exchanging playful paw movements. The cubs eventually move together out of frame to the right. The sequence captures natural social play in the complex woodland surroundings of an active fox den.
