A sand lizard (Lacerta agilis) basks on a sunlit rock in a forest clearing in Slovakia during early spring. The lizard remains alert, turns its head from right to left and makes several small movements with its forefoot while resting on the warm rock. Filmed on 8 March, documenting very early seasonal activity in a natural woodland clearing.
