A young tawny owl rests quietly on a tree branch in daylight after leaving its nest cavity. Partly sheltered by surrounding branches and fresh foliage, the fledgling remains still while a gentle breeze moves the leaves and softly ruffles its downy plumage. Natural post-fledging behaviour recorded in woodland habitat beside a stream.
