Footage description
A young tawny owl (Strix aluco) watches attentively from inside its natural nest cavity in a large old willow tree. Only the chick's head and part of its body are visible as it peers from the sheltered interior of the hollow. The chick focuses intently on something outside, briefly adjusts its position and then turns its gaze more toward the camera. Natural nesting behaviour recorded at an active woodland nest beside a stream.
