Footage description
A large exposed underground nest of yellowjacket wasps (Vespula sp.) is documented in woodland habitat in Slovakia. Numerous workers move across the layered paper structure and around the exposed nest openings. The normally concealed subterranean nest had been uncovered before filming, possibly by a wild animal, providing an unusual close view of the internal nest architecture and active wasp colony.
